54: Two Sets of White Metal Napoleonic War Figures with Guns+Plinth: Tradition of London (14)
Described by their manufacturer, Tradition of London, as “Toy Soldiers and Model Soldiers of the highest quality”, these 60mm figures are handmade and painted by the company.
One set includes a 9 Pounder Gun and 6 Military Figures from the French Horse Artillery of the Guard and the other represents the British Royal Horse Artillery with a 9 pounder gun and 6 Military Figures. Both come with an attractive plinth and each set has 7 illustrations depicting each figure.
This Swedish-based company was founded around 60 years ago and in 1980 a toy soldier range was introduced, sculpted by David Scheinmann. Today, Tradition of London has an eclectic range of model figures for sale.
Prices vary on its website where just one similar soldier figure can begin at £30. It is unclear how much these Napoleonic-related sets would have cost when made, but research suggests from £150 and upwards each.
